Binchotan (Japanese Oak) activated charcoal is the highest grade of charcoal. These charcoals are from the Kishu region of Japan.
Binchotan charcoal is effective at absorbing odor, reducing water hardness, and improving the taste of drinking water. Filtering time is approximately 3-4 hours.
2 binchotan charcoal sticks are included in one package. Use 1 stick for 3 litres of water; each stick is approximately 0.98" to 1.2" in diameter and 4" in length.
Reactivate charcoal every two weeks by boiling for 10 minutes and letting dry.
Do not use with water that is microbiologically unsafe or of unknown quality.
